Natural Synergy

Steve and Fran love birds — LOVE THEM! So much that in the following shot, I counted 47 birds in the artworks, sculpture and the 2 gorgeous native birds they were holding.

Fran and Steve converted half of their old garage into a workshop where Fran could paint her vividly coloured works, while Steve made his sculptures in the garden.

For the shoot I actually had to position myself outside, off the balcony and in their fantastic rain forest like backyard. The shoot was for an Artist Market profile in Focus Magazine’s February Issue.¬†I used a 580EX II at 1/16th power camera right as the main light shot into a silver reflective umbrella and a slaved flash to counteract the 580ex II’s shadows on the left.
