An ‘08 to Remember
We can all say that we have our resolutions for the year in and year out, this and thats and this year will be different type scenarios… And well, to be frank; I have to say I too am getting on that band-wagon too!
‘08 was good in it’s ways but we are glad to say good bye to it!
We’ve all had our problems, disasters and well, I guess some pinnacles of bliss (Thankfully I had more then 2 at least). But I really do hope for all this new year will bring a change.
Change not only around us but with others…
We’ve seen change world wide with new elections, economic downfalls (and rises) and me finally getting a blog off the ground – which I’m willing to say are the 3 most important events of 2008 ever! (I’m serial!)
I hope to travel around again this year and meet a few more people out there and blog a bit more. This year I’m aiming heavily for a trip to North America as a whole or just Canada if need be.
I do hope everyone a FANTASTIC and enjoyable year. Be safe – but crazy, be friendly – but sharp and be on-top of it – but just relax ay!
See you around in 2009.
Peace

FOTSUN
Dear Mr Media Moguls,
During the Festival of the Sun I had been back and around stage… So shoot through and email to info [at] the-mil.com if you would like press ready Hi-Res versions of the photos.
Ordering by DVD is no problem either; just state DVD and I can freely post one out.
Here are some of the images from FOTSUN so you have a general-gist of what was taken.

It was a FANTASTIC event and cant wait till next year.
A high recommendation to ANY JJJ (Tripple J) listener or just love a mellow tune or a hearty Led-Zeplin type style with that pure husky voice in your music genre.
Hope to see you there next December!

Colour Set… Eh?
Key: RGB Red, Green Blue. CMYK Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key (Black).
This is a highly annoying topic to cover! Especially in the industries I’m in: Graphic (Print) & Web Design and Photography.
Colour Settings (or Profiles) are basically lines of codes and equations which interpret how colour is displayed. They are usually never the same though some don’t really differ result wise, but than some can completely change the Saturation and the true representation throughout your photo.
Colour settings you can’t avoid when it comes to colour and digital together! There are hundreds (Thousands if you include every Professional printers ones’) of them and pretty much every application uses their own as a default or use the two profiles that are pretty standard throughout the industries.

Xmas Gitters!
Setting up the Christmas Tree for this year… I forgot that last year we bought 4 boxes of some fantastic little red and yellow lights that were marked from $35.95 to $7.50 at Target during end of Christmas sales…. Gotta’ love em’!
So after decking out the floor with the little ones, took some snaps and then decided that this will be a feature in some of the shots in a major shoot that I have coming up in which I need to get crazy-creative!
Those that have seen my lolly workings know that I like to get colourful and I just cant wait to use there gems in the shoot!
Oh and… Can’t wait for this coming Xmas!!
25 sleeps! Bliss!!

Right Light
Lighting effects… lets see how they travel.
Recently I’ve been trying to experiment with some different lighting effects.
The other night I got pretty bored and tried to see how well I would go in a different approach between photography and lighting effects without using Photoshop to control the lighting.
After a little tinkering with the camera, I think I managed to get what I wanted, even though it wasn’t what I wanted in the first place!
I will be creating the odd addition to a stream on flickr and when and where I can, try to get the line-of-light traveling with me.

iPhon’d
I know that it has been ages since they were launched in Australia, but I finally got a shiny new spankin’ 16GB White iPhone! Yay!
The reason why I didn’t in the first place was due to the fact that I had a massive $500 disconnection fee (Say it quick so it doesn’t hurt so much) that I would of had to pay… So I passed on it for the time being. But now that the contract is up, I swooped on in!
Like everyone else I guess I might just go through what is good and what I’ve come across that seems to be a bit of a problem… Though I have previously owned a nice iPod Touch that I bought while bored at Singapore airport (Yes, I get VERY bored in airports I just cant say no to expensive things! *See* )… So I basically know my way around all the version of the systems.

-❥MY 50mm
Back when I bought my Canon 450D when I was aimlessly wondering around at Heathrow Airport waiting for my plane… (Yes, that did happen… and insurance comes out in £’s and it’s a bitch!) … I really had no grasp of photography besides what I could do with my old Samsung ‘Point-and-Shoot’.
After returning back to Aus, I set the goal to do whatever I could to learn about the camera and become totally amateur hour and act all pro! (Who doesn’t)
Not long after returning and several looks over eBay, I came across the little beauty that I’m now the somewhat proud owner of: the Canon 50mm f/1.8. Not the best tool in the Canon arsenal, but it’s quite the achiever when people underestimate it.
So when I first ventured into work glorifying it around, I got the expected attitude from the wonderful guys at work:
“Is that a lens or a Tic-Tak mate?!”
My Art Director
… Well, I felt like I wasted the money, laughed it off and set out to prove them wrong.

Welcome! (Finally)
I guess a sarcastic or placebo type sorry is in order for the long time it has taken to get my site off the ground and running through a CMS!
Thanks for stopping by and I guess I will tell you what will be going on in the life of The Mil. I like long walks on the beach and don’t mind rubbing exfoliation cream on my chest… It’s unusual…
As any usual blog the rambelling with take place but most of all it’s generally a portfolio for my design in both web and communication media and photography.
I will try to keep posting with the blog whenever something comes up but be sure to catch me on Twitter basically 24 hours a day (Now that I’ve installed TweetDeck at home and at work!) and I’m usually found on Flickr too.
Thanks again for stopping by and I hope to hear from you!
*And I know… the links are set to ‘Ugly’… I cant change them yet.. My server is running Windows IIS!! - Thanks Gates’y… You’re a top bloke! *
